Mandatory Spending Associated with Poker Games
- Tags: poker, poker games
To make sure that not all the players just fold their hands which will be financially disastrous to card rooms, there are few widely followed mandatory spending actions for poker players.
Antes refer to the chips that must be put into the pot by all players even before dealing the cards. These chips are moved to the center of the table and goes to the winning player. Antes are usually followed in Stud poker and their value in real money games may be 5¢ – $5.
Bring-ins bets are associated with players with the lowest cards that are placed face up in seven-card Stud games. If more than one player has the same lowest cards then the hierarchy of the suit (clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades – low to high) is used to zero on the player who should make the bring-in bet.
Blinds can be found in Omaha and Hold ’em games where the cards are not dealt visibly and bring-ins cannot be implemented. The Dealer button which is a plastic disk rotates clockwise for one seat each time after hand. The person to the left of the button should put up half of the small bet (small blind) while the next person puts the full small bet (big blind).
“How exciting it must be to enter a poker room and be surrounded by poker masters!”
Well, at least that is how my friend feels. You see, he is a fan of poker and he loves playing it, too. He spends so many hours in front of his computer keeping track of his progress and keeping record of those others who remain playing. Most of the time he skips meals just to play more poker and mind you, he hasn’t gotten a single chore done since he discovered the wonder of poker. I asked him why he likes it so much and he just smiled at me. I ask him what he gains from it and he just keeps smiling. Later, he told me that this game is awesome as it only needs you to risk a little amount but gain bigger rewards or winnings. Oh well, I guess it is that easy for him.
I don’t know about you but I am not a very good fan of poker, or any game that involves gambling for that matter. I simply cannot get the idea of putting down money without any assurance of getting them back whole or doubled. It’s just not a wise thing to do especially during these times that we are going through. I guess this is not entirely true for those who have money to spare. Whatever! They can do almost anything they want with their money.
Some say poker or gambling in any other form is played just for fun and leisure. I have an entirely different view of fun and leisure though, so it’s not an option for me. For those however, who lean towards this kind of activity for leisure it is most certainly favorable for them to spend most of their time in a poker room than anywhere else. I just hope my friend doesn’t get too caught up with it and decide to sell his property in order for him to keep on playing. That, in my opinion, may prove to be too extreme. Anyway, I know he knows better than that and he probably is just having a grand time with his newfound addiction. Time will come and he will decide that poker, too, has lost its popularity and over time he will find new ways to entertain himself. He’ll probably have another means to keep himself busy and I sure hope it is something more productive.
And while my friend continues his “passion” for poker, I try to find other things that I can really be passionate about other than poker or gambling. I don’t know but he certainly gets a kick out of this all and I may never really know what is in it for him. There’s really no objection on my part as to his preference pertaining to leisure and fun if that’s really what keeps him entertained. After all, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and this absolutely includes our opinions on the perfect leisure activity.
If there is one thing that has been apparently accepted in our society now, it would be gaming and betting on sports. This has also been fertilized that made it grow more with the help of the ongoing and incessant growth of online gaming that gave birth to what we call now as internet gambling. With this scenario, the act of online sport betting has been placed in to a lot of controversies overseeing it and one of the most profound controversies that we can see is its legitimacy.
For most of the people who are actually indulging themselves into the realm of online sports gaming, at one point of their life they would probably ask the question if they are breaking any law by such act. We all know for a fact that numerous countries all around the world have been considering sports gaming as illegal. The most known country that has been very firm with its stand as an anti sport gaming country is the United States of America. With the discretion of the United States of America and as well as those federal government, they agreed on laws that would define if gambling online or offline would be lawful or not.
However, it is a given fact that the management of most of the online sports gaming were left in the discretion of the said states that were involved that it even reached to the degree wherein the surge of the online sports gaming have also made another wave of confusion regarding the jurisdiction of the law. If there is one very important question that should be asked by a person when it comes to online sports gaming is the question whether who run the laws in the online world. The very simple fact that we can fathom is that most of the laws that would concern sports gaming were made and proposed earlier before the emergence of the online world. With such, it paved the way to the m multitude interpretations regarding the law’s applications.
Along with the question that has been raised earlier that concerns the laws in the online sports gaming, another question emerged which is, if the emergence and presence of online or offline sports have been acceptable, then would the government of the United States of America be taking proceedings against those clients that are located in the US? The answer of the US government was so broad that they only said that both online or offline sports gaming websites are all illegal without them taking into consideration the “gambling” that is happening in the Stock Market.
A lot of laws have been proposed and made that would combat the presence of gambling that once was very evident in our society. What we must take note is the very simple fact that by the emergence of the internet, the laws were still kicking but have you heard of people who have been prosecuted with just the simple act of playing online gambling games like online poker.
